CNN Praises Rain

Korean pop star Rain as been praised for having “all the trimmings of an international superstar in the making”. CNN commented on its Internet edition on Tuesday under the title of, “From Asian top star to Ninja Assassin”. CNN has reported the difficulties that Rain had suffered through along his personal history as an entertainer and the broadcaster said that Rain climbed “from unknown backup dancer to a member of Asian A-list”.

“He has hailed as one of People magazine’s most beautiful two years ago, and despite being relatively unknown to most Americans, beat Stephen Colbert in a Time Magazine online poll of most influential people in 2007″.

Ninja Assassin is his second Hollywood movie appearance, following “Speed Racer” last year.

Girls’ Generation Gig Sells Out in 3 Minutes

Girls’ Generation sold out in just 3 minutes for their first solo concert. On December 19, Girls’ Generation will be giving their first concert by themselves in the Fencing Gymnasium at Seoul Olympic Park. The band will also start their first Asian tour on their own.

You’e Beautiful Episode 11

WARNING! There are spoilers so if you have not watched episode 11, please do not continue. Shin Woo takes Go Mi Nam for a walk while holding her so that the reporters don’t find out shes a girl. In the process, the hairpin given by Taekyung falls and gets trampled on by the reporters. Taekyung’s face expression stiffens after seeing the hairpin broken, abandoned, and crushed. Jeremy is completely surprised about the fact of Mi Nam really being a girl.

Taekyung, Shin Woo, and jeremy have discussed and decided to accept Mi Nam being a girl.

Uee continues to threaten Taekyung but Mi Nam, Shin Woo, and Jeremy soon find out that Taekyung and Uee were in a fake relationship to keep the fact that Mi Nam is a girl a secret.

SHINee’s Onew Recovering Very Fast From H1N1

SHINee’s leader, Onew, is currently making a very fast recovery. The company said: “Onew will be sent to the hospital on either the 12th or the 13th to check if he has recovered fully from the virus.

SHINee’s management company has also said: “Onew’s body temperature has returned to normal, and he is now making frequent video calls to his good friends. He is in a good state of health as of now.”

SHINee is currently promoting the title track “Ring Ding Dong” as a 4-member group.

Son Dambi’s Wish Before Debut

Son Dambi says that she has wanted to film for a CF before debut with Lee Hyori. It was recently for the filming of SBS ‘Strong Heart’ when she talks about her wish to film the CF. She says, “Before I debuted, I really wanted to film a CF and it was even the case since it will be filming with Lee Hyori.” She reveals how much hard work she put into it but she never got to fulfill her wish.

She even talked about a drama named ‘Dream’ and she was in with actor Kim Bum. This drama had gained lots of attention from viewers and netizens because of the kissing scene between them. Son Dambi says, “Even though Kim Bum is younger than me by 6 years, he doesn’t call me by ‘noona’ for even once. He will always call me ‘Dambi sshi’.”

Rain talks about “Ninja Assassin”

The rising international star, Rain, talks about starring in his new film making hundreds of reporters from all over Asia to converge in Seoul to get a chance to speak to him. During a press conference at the Lotte Hotel in downtown central Seoul he says, “The (Wachowshi) brothers told me to ‘forget about Rain the pop-star because from now on, you’re a killer and a fighter.’” He also joking says, “And for eight months (during the production), I lived day to day thinking I was exactly that…I think though this film I’ll gain a lot of male fans in the future.”

There are several women from all over Asia that desire Rain but this film is full of killing and mayhem so it may not be good for eyes and ears of his female fans. He says, “This isn’t a film that should be seen by young girls, even though some might find ways to see it.”
“When I saw the finished film, I was very satisfied that I could not recognize myself on screen-the guy on screen was very different from the real Jung Ji-hoon.”

Rain underwent a six-month training for this film and here are some other things Rain had to say:

“I trained as if my life was hanging by a thread.” “Over 90 percent of the stunts in the film I did myself. It was intimidating at first but after I got the hang of it, it all became very easy for me.” “As for struggles with having to overcome a language barrier,” he said, “the brothers told me not to think too much about speaking the dialogue.” “They requested that I focus entirely on communicating through expressions, mannerisms, and even the movement of my eyes. I also had a speech coach with me at all times so that helped as well.”

“I hope the film does well and I hope a lot of people go watch it because it would be a lie if I said I didn’t have expectations for this film. This film has to succeed in order for other Asian actors to get chances in Hollywood in the future and regardless of how well it does, this has been a challenge that’s also been an educational experience.”

Rain was asked if Raizo, Rain’s title character, and pop-star Rain had any similarities. Rain says,”I’m not an introvert like Raizo and I’m very social unlike him. I wouldn’t be able to live in solitude.”

This film will hit Korean cinemas nationwide on November 26.
